| Description: | The oviduct or uterine tube is also known as the Fallopian tube. It has
the typical layers of a hollow organ: mucosa, submucosa, muscularis and
serosa. The mucosa is thrown into numerous major and minor folds. There
is no muscularis submucosa. The propria-submucosa is unremarkable. The
muscularis contain circular and longitudinal smooth muscles. The serosa
contains connective tissue, blood vessels and a surface mesothelium.
