| Description: | This slide was stained with PAS-hemotoxylin. Note the bright staining
of the basal lamina surrounding the tubules as well as in the
glomeruli. The brush border of the proximal convoluted tubules also
stained a touch of pink. The epthelial cells of the proximal convoluted
tubules are cuiboidal with centrally located nuclei. The lateral cell
waslls cannot be seen. The distal tubules have more open lumens. The
cells are smaller and the nuclei are closer to the lumen than those in
the proximal tubules. Note the absence of a pink brush border in the
distal tubules. Original mag. 133x. PAS_Hematoxylin. Cortex. Kidney.
