Sectioning Artifact, Respiratory Epithelium
Description:A tangential section of the respiratory epithelium gives the impression that this protion of the epithelium contains many layers of cells piled on top of each other. This is an artifact due to the plane of section. It is necessary to be aware of this kind of misleading artifacts so as not to be confuesed with true pathological conditions in the tissue. PK1616.
