| Description: | The calcitonin secreting C-cells (parafollicular) cells have pale
cytoplasm and are found between the follicules. Note the amount of
cytoplasm and the staining property of these cells. At one time they
were called "clear cells". Tangential sections of the follicular
epithelium yield clusters of smaller cells with eosinophilic cytoplasm.
