| Description: | The trabecular artery has a distinctive tunica media made up of smooth
muscle cells. It also has a tunica adventitia which stains blue in this
picture. Surround this is the fibromuscular stroma of the trabecula.
Arterial blood enters the spleen from the capsule via the trabecular
artery. Branches of the artery leave the trabeculae and become arteries
