| Description: | The corpus spongiosum is surrounded by a thin tunica albugina (not included in this micrograph). The penile urethra is located in the center of this erectile cylinder. The erectile tissue is made up of trabeculae and cavernous blood spaces. The trabeculae contain smooth muscle and conncetive tissues.
