2. General Notes

This week is dedicated mostly to understanding the basic transformations applied to objects in Blender - Move - Rotate and Scale. We will also do some mesh modeling tutorials that include adding a texture to an object.

  • View the Video Tutorials posted below: Perspective and Orthographic Projection, Primitive Mesh Objects, Selecting Objects, Moving Objects, Scaling Objects, Rotating Objects and Transform Properties Panel.
  • Work through (with your copy of Blender open) the 3 PDF tutorials posted below: Mesh Modeling - Sofa, Mesh Modeling - Hand and Mesh Modeling - Snowman. This should give you some good practice in manipulating basic primitive objects in Blender. Any files you might need for the PDF tutorials are located in the zip file associated with the tutorial. Right-click on the zip file link and download it to your computer. Open the zip file from there and extract the files.
