Bovine: Mycoplasma mycoides/mycoides
| PREV : Swine: Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae | NEXT : Rodents: Mycoplasma pulmonis |
| Description: | Infection with Mycoplasma mycoides subspecies mycoides, unlike mycoplasmal infection in many other species, causes a severe fibrinous pleuropneumonia in cattle called contagious bovine pleuropneumonia (CBPP). The infection has been eradicated in the US, but remains a very serious bovine pathogen in Africa, southern Europe, Asia and the Middle East. |
